Dear Brothers,
Assalamu Alaikum,
This video and article are especially important for those who want to pursue higher education, final-year school students, and those looking to specialize in a particular field. The video focuses on Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), while this article discusses the importance of Central Universities in India, their education system, research opportunities, and how they shape our future.
Why Should We Study in Central Universities?
The Students Islamic Organisation (SIO) has been raising awareness about the importance of studying in Central Universities for many years. Tamil Nadu is known for its strong education system, yet many students hesitate to study outside the state. In contrast, Kerala has a significant number of students enrolling in Central Universities and top institutions across India, including many SIO members. This is something we should consider.
Alhamdulillah, I have visited several Central Universities in India and have been fortunate to join Pondicherry Central University as a research scholar.
Benefits of Studying in Central Universities
- Diverse Learning Environment: Students from different states and countries come together, helping us learn about various cultures and traditions.
- High-Quality Education: Central Universities provide a strong academic foundation and better career prospects.
- Advanced Research Opportunities: Well-equipped libraries and research centers are available 24/7.
- Faculty Support: Professors actively engage with students to enhance their learning experience.
- Open Discussions: Students can participate in debates, discussions, and academic events.
- Political Awareness: Central Universities encourage discussions on social justice, cultural issues, and student politics.
Muslims and Education – A Responsibility
Islam strongly emphasizes the importance of education. The Quran and Hadith highlight seeking knowledge as a duty:
“Allah grants wisdom to whom He wills, and whoever is given wisdom has certainly been given much good. But none will remember except those of understanding.” (Quran 2:269)
“O my Lord! Increase me in knowledge.” (Quran 20:114)
“Whoever follows a path in pursuit of knowledge, Allah will make easy for him a path to Paradise.” (Sahih Muslim 5231)
SIO is actively working to support Muslim students in accessing quality education. Central Universities provide a platform for discussions on Islam, the challenges faced by Muslims in India, and global issues affecting the community.
A Call to Action
- We must actively seek higher education in Central Universities and top institutions.
- Universities should be seen as platforms for social reform and awareness.
- We should use the freedom in these institutions wisely to grow in knowledge and character.
- SIO members should guide students toward higher education opportunities in India and abroad.
We encourage students and SIO representatives to take leadership in mentoring and motivating others to pursue higher education in Central Universities. This will help build a knowledgeable and responsible community.
May Allah guide us in seeking beneficial knowledge and using it for the betterment of society.
